Senior Move Management

Moving a Senior Loved One? New Leaf can manage the whole transition! !

Are you responsible for an elderly parent, relative or friend? Can they no longer live safely on their own? Does moving them to a senior community seem confusing and overwhelming?
The reasons for “later in life” moves are varied and each comes with its own complexities and stressors. An accident? Illness? Old age? Cognitive decline? Caregiver burnout? Death of a spouse? Regardless, now is the time for a transition. A smaller property? Independent Living? Assisted Living? Memory Care? Skilled Nursing Facility? Whatever the level of care now required, New Leaf can be your Senior Move Manager. You can continue to focus on your other life commitments.
New Leaf understands moving a senior is no small thing. New Leaf, certified by the NASMM as a Senior Move Manager (cSMM), will make your senior’s transition easier. Our team is caring and compassionate, and we’re trained, experienced, bonded and insured. Most importantly, we follow the NASMM Code of Ethics for all transitions.

Senior Moving & Transition Services We Offer:

Project Management

We develop a detailed project plan and budget that we manage, from beginning to end, in close consultation with you. We find and coordinate the most reputable and affordable service providers - community representatives, appraisers, movers, shippers, estate sale organizers, renovators, stagers, cleaners, realtors, etc. We are with you throug every step of the transition process. We make sure everything goes smoothly and is completed in a timely manner.

Selection of New Home

If you need assistance choosing not only the proper level of care for your loved one, but also the best community for them, we do the online and in-person research for you. We do this with an understanding of your loved one’s health needs, personality, interests, budget, insurance, and family preferences. We compare the options “apples-to-apples” on the aspects important to you - safety, cleanliness, amenities, activities, food, medical supervision/care, etc. We then present to you a short list of options and a top recommendation for you and your loved one’s consideration.

Planning for a New Space

Once your loved one’s new space is chosen, a custom floor plan of the new space is developed and recommendations on placement of furniture and belongings are made, emphasizing safety, functionality, convenience and comfort.

Sorting, Disposal

We undertake the difficult task of sorting your loved one’s belongings – What goes to the new space? What goes to family? What can be sold at online estate/garage sales? What goes to your loved one’s preferred charity? What is not worth keeping and needs to be disposed of? These are difficult decisions that we approach with loving patience, but also with a sense of efficiency to keep the process moving forward.

Moving

We oversee and manage the move of your loved one’s selected items to their new space.

“Final Touches”

Feeling at home in the new space is the culmination of a successful move. We make sure that all is in place, unpacked and set up so that your loved one is able to continue their life in their new space without missing a beat.

Contact us and with a compassionate heart we will relieve you of your loved one’s transition responsibilities, which would otherwise be overwhelming. Trust New Leaf to help you and your loved one make a difficult transition easier.
